Poetry, People watching, and Polemics -- the real PPP...Random insanity generated in hopes of priming the creative pump (hmm... 'things that sound dirty, but aren't' for $500, Alex...) and really just posted to put off things that i should be doing instead. m

"here's you in a nutshell"
no, this is me in a nutshell: [tiny voice] help, help, i'm in a nutshell!
so eric decided to take an online personality test since he was bored. it was a simplified meyers-briggs profile, and since i wanted to see how i had changed since the last time i had taken one (psych 101, eight years ago), i decided to do it. well, actually, i decided to take it since i am currently ptting off doing any writing or job searching. i thought it was funny that before you start, they ask you what your desired career is (this particular quiz is supposed to be a "job-interest/aptitude" type thingy), and -- oh look, what a coincidence -- my entry was slapped onto the list. i did some more research though, and it turns out that my "type" does sometimes tend to create successful writers.

in case anyone's interested, i used to be an INTP, which is a pretty interesting combination, too. i'd say that this particular quiz was fairly accurate for me, since i used to think that most things could be solved (and would be better so) by logic. in my years in the "real world" (yep, season seven, just off camera the whole time), i've learned that logic plays a frustratingly small part in the way the world works most of the time. i've come to rely more on the feelings and well-being of others, which i strongly believe is important. interestingly enough, i think that i began life as an INFP, became more of an INTP as i went through school, and reverted slowly after i quit. over the next couple of years, we'll see if this was a result of an attitude change fostered by a school atmosphere or an attempt to conform to something i felt necessary. an interesting question.
on most tests, i'm usually pretty close to the midlines between types/categories, so this one also proved that out. i think the 60/40 split on iNtuitive/Sensing is actually accurate, and reflects the way i've begun to settle as i get older and experience more.
but that's the greatest part about these tests -- much like your astrological type, you can read into the results a lot of what you wish them to say...

ps -- for more info on MBTI (Meyers-Briggs Type Indicator) meanings, do a search for MBTI and your type. I found that this page does a good job of explaining things in plain english (many sites tend strongly toward the scientific or the spiritual -- probably depending on whether the author is an 'F' or an 'T'...)
